The recent blog by Bjorn Brembs on “What happens to publishers that don’t maximize their profit?” (http://bjoern.brembs.net/2015/06/what-happens-to-publishers-that-dont-maximize-their-profit/) adds more fuel to the fire. What is really worth a look –once you get past the brief use of “designer-brand handbags” as an interesting metaphor(!)– is the discussion generated in the Comments section. Several future possible publishing models are proposed.
